High-End Wine Racks
70Not all wine racks are created the same. Some are both functional and have an aesthetic appeal to them. They are beautiful even if they aren't storing any wine. You can appreciate the craftsmanship and work that was put into making one of these pieces. Like anything else, you pay for what you get and they will cost you quite a bit up front.
Not all of them are going to be outrageously expensive. A nice butler's cabinet will set you back about $600. A butler's cabinet is a small hutch that usually sits in a formal dining room and holds wines in the bottom and has a flat tray on the top to hold dishes before and after a meal. It blends in well and looks like a piece of furniture instead of a rack just sitting there. Some have wheels that allow them to be moved around.
If you have a room in your home with a classic bar set up, you may want to consider a wall mounted hutch that sits over the bar and shows off your collection. Something like the Niagara Hutch by Howard Miller is a great example. It showcases the wines and liquors, has a stemware rack and a large, lighted mirror on the back.
If you want something a little less conspicuous, then look no further than the Bar Devino hide-a-bar. It looks like any other large console cabinet but hides an ice sink, stemware rack, shelving and storage for 38 bottles of wine.
If you have a penchant for having the biggest and best without anyone knowing it then something like the Sonoma Hide-A-Bar is perfect. When closed it looks like a large wardrobe cabinet but opens to expose a truly massive amount of storage for 6 shelves of liquor, room for 22 bottles of wine, two utensil drawers and a stemware rack plus a small set of outlets to plug in a mixer or other small appliance.
